Position: Part-Time Legal Secretary and/or Administrative Assistant
Hours: 2-3 days a week (15-20 hours per week)
Flexibility: Work from anywhere!


About the Position

We're on the lookout for a motivated, experienced secretary or administrative assistant to join our vibrant and growing team. Enjoy flexible working hours and the chance to grow your career with a boutique specialist law firm on the stunning Gold Coast.


Tallay is breaking the norm of traditional law firm practices by being accessible to its clients whilst providing a flexible, fun and relaxed working environment for the team.  We focus on quality clients and work (not quantity) ensuring we do Good Work for Good People.


What You'll Do

You'll be the right-hand person to our two senior lawyers, who are highly regarded solicitors who practice in NSW and QLD in Body Corporate and Strata.  In addition, you will receive exposure to a range of other legal practice areas, including: Litigation and Dispute Resolution, Property (including conveyancing), Wills and Estate Administration and

General Practice.


Your Day-to-Day

  • Create and manage legal documents and correspondence
  • Proofread and compile documents with precision
  • Manage electronic file maintenance (open, close, archive)
  • Provide top-notch secretarial support (including diary management)
  • Handle incoming and outgoing calls
  • Prepare and issue bills, and manage accounts
  • Assist with marketing and events for tallay

Who You Are

  • You have at least 2 years of secretarial experience in a law firm or relevant admin experience (bookkeeping is a plus!)
  • You’re organised, diligent, and detail-oriented
  • You’re trust worthy and can work autonomously and in a team environment
  • You’re positive, enthusiastic, and ready to tackle new challenges
  • You’re proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams)
  • You have excellent communication skills (written and verbal)
  • You can liaise with clients, referrers, and team members
  • You’re self-motivated, able to multitask, and meet deadlines
  • You have a customer-centric approach
  • You’re proactive and flexible

Tallay was founded in 2024 by co-founders, Elisha Hodgson and Tom Robinson. The name "Tallay" reflects our founders' roots, combining Tallebudgera Valley and Torbay in New Zealand, paying homage to where they are from and symbolising its connection to both the local area and a broader perspective.


With over 20 years combined legal experience, specialising in Property, Litigation, Wills & Estates and Commercial/Business transactions, our co-founders have crafted a specialised legal practice which can cater for all your needs.  Whilst Elisha and Tom call Gold Coast home, Tallay serves clients from Far North Queensland to Northern New South Wales and beyond.
